The Catskill Music Parent Student Association (CMPSA) is hosting a Catskill Community Fundraiser Party on Friday, May 10th from 6:30pm-11pm at Anthony’s Banquet Hall in Leeds, NY. The purpose of the event is to thank the community for the amazing support they have given our teachers, students, and high school principal, while fundraising to continue to support our music department and students.
The “Community S.O.S. Fundraiser” is open to supporters (12 years old +) of the Catskill School District and its music programs. There is a $10 entrance fee for students, $15 for adults. The evening will begin with all ages dances (eg. the Macarena), then our 80’s/90’s party with DJ Zefi Zef! We will have a finger food buffet, generously donated by Anthony’s (as is the use of the banquet hall), we will select raffle winners, and will end the evening with an outdoor Foam Party from 9-11pm with DJ Mike Ferretti!
The CMPSA is an independent nonprofit group organized to help support music programs and students in the Catskill Central School District. We sponsor a range of activities including:
• Assisting with expenses for students selected to participate in special musical events (eg. the High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall).
• Assisting with fees associated with students attending summer music camps.
• A yearly senior scholarship.
• A musical trip for 11-12th grade music students to Broadway every other year.
• Hosting a yearly Cabaret Night, which is an evening of entertainment provided by Catskill music student volunteers in grades 4-12th grade.
• Purchasing musical items needed by our music teachers that may not be in the budget for the department (eg. a new keyboard for the Elementary School; vocal headsets for the High School musicals).
• Assisting the High School musical cast and crew by providing rehearsal meals, assistance with costumes, etc.
