App that Detects Potholes

Residents of Boston are going to start using a new app for their phones that detects potholes and reports them to the city. The user of the app just has to activate the app then set their phone in a cup holder or on their dashboard and every time they hit a pothole it sends the data to the city so they know where to fix it.

Food for Mars

A group of scientists are already planning the food that the astronauts will be eating on their mission to Mars planned for 2030. It’s a tall order to plan the meals that six to eight people will be eating for almost 3 years. Since there is some gravity on Mars as well it may be possible for the astronauts to grow some vegetables on the planet by using hydroponic technology. However the menu is all vegetarian to insure shelf life of all the food because dairy and meat wouldn’t keep for that long.
